You're driving to work in the morning
You're driving FROM work in the afternoon
You're driving for your daily errands in the evening
Whenever, wherever
There just seem to be traffic jams... and alotta them these days.
Kuwait is ONLY country in the world with three rush hours, one TO work, one FROM work, and ONE with no discernible purpose (shopping, dining, gazz etc)
I've been to many places around the world, not too many, but enough to say this. Country road traffic system is one of the best in the world, and we've got good roads, and at our current status, the roads are well able to handle the traffic load provided by our lovely drivers.
So whats the problem? Like in any organised system, the human factor is the most flawed part of the system. Why do kuwaitis think they can freakin own the roads?!!! I use the 4th rind road quite often, and it's one of the busiest roads. Yet if you notice carefully, it seems to get packed around the exit points leading to Shweikh and Hawali. True they're busy areas but if i'm using the fastest fourth lane away from those areas why do i still seem to get caught in the traffic. Because every mo**** f**** wants to cut the que of cars waiting to exit the road, and decides to jump the que, even if it means going from the third lane! And the funny part is that the cop's car is parking at the point of exist, with flashes turned on, and probably either reading a newspaper or chatting to his girl(or boy!)friend on the mobile phone.
Why do u-turns which have their own dedicated lanes off major roads still seem to cause traffic to other cars who are going straight ahead? Again because all these people still cant wait in line and decide to jump the line and create a second que! God i can't remember how many times I almost smashed into one them. I can't remember how many times I wished i was riding a Hummer with a front bumper studded with pins and rods that would smashed the hell out of that car and send him to oblivion and beyond.
I would just like to say something. There's alotta things going wrong around us, but every journey starts with a step. Just because everyone around you is doing wrong that does not justify it. Next time you decide to do exit or take the turn, line up, if it means waiting an extra minute or two. Stick to your principle, because
(1) It's for your safety
(2) It's the right thing to do
(3) We're not kids, and we don't have to be watched over everytime we're required to do the right thing
(4) Even though you might not realise it, your contribution is already making the difference.
Good night and good luck

All Those In Agreement Say Yea!
It's been a while
Been busy with work. Busy calls, not much time off even after work. Trying to spend whatever spare time I have communicating with real life rather than typing on a keyboard, not that being online is of any less importance, it IS a way of life. But I'd turn crazy if i dont leave, smell some "fresh" air polluted with the daily contributions of diesel and gas, and talk to people and relate to them.
But anyhow...
What the hell is going on with this country. As interesting as it IS, i'm sick of reading the newspaper these cause all there seems to be is someone bitching about the government, or someone interrogating a government representative, or trying to demoralizing something.
Now I'm not saying the government is any better, but i have a feeling those under interrogation by members of the parliament are the ones who "unfortunately" try to do good. One person told me, the past Minister of Health underwent the enquiry by the PMs during the era of the last House of Ministers because he stopped providing health services to Kuwaiti citizens to receive abroad, even when PMs approached with him the magical vitamin W...
PS... Vit. W = Was6a
but again beside the point. Do you feel the point to which corruption has reached in this country, that when someone tries to stop a flawed system, he gets stopped by the PMs! (the foreign health service availability was corrupted because people who knew people started going, and not people who really needed specialised medical care. Like when some girl goes to London for an allergy treatment, WITH 7 companions, staying in a top-notch hotel costing 1000 pounds per night per bed!!!)
that's barely the tip of the ice-berg.
The financial stock market is on an sy high inflation of profit margins. Everyone is talking about stock markets. EVERYONE is investing in stocks. What the hell? suddenly everyone is a hedge fund investor in JP Morgan & Stanely.... Lemme give you a hint, ever heard of INSIDE trading?! But then everyone is justifying it: "But surely everyone else is doing it! So it's OK!" Just because everyone is doing wrong, doesnt mean wrong is right!
I'm not gonna pretend I know everything in this world. But atleast I know how much the Health System in country stinks!... WHY is no one held accountable? If anything, doctors should be held accountable first and foremost in this country so that they can start working properly. Unfortunately whether some of these doctors arrive to a correct diagnosis or not, it won't matter. The patient can become debilitated, permenantly handicapped, or even die; what's the reason? God's will. Even when family members do realise something was grossly wrong, and they complain about it formally, nothing is done. The decide to sue the doctor or the hospital; Sir / Madam do you have special Vit. W ? Nop? ok please just go to the back of the line. Oh you DO have vit. W? ok let's skip the procedure, here's a compensation of x00,000 KD written off by the M.O.Health, it'll be just be written off as unavoidable medical error due to variaty of co-factors, and that'll be it. Where's the doctor? oh, he has Vit. W too and he's STILL working as a doctor! Oh or worst still, he transferred from medical to medical management dept and is Vice Director of the hospital in 2 years where he's responsible for more lives. Hahaha! I love this system.
Too long of a post...
More to come...
